Sun setting over Skye this evening
What a beautiful Hebridean evening a shot from phone camera on coast road back to Applecross from Torridon looking over the northern point of Skye. The hills of Harris are to the right of the photo on the skyline. No wind and calm sea.

Montys Beachcomber Cottage
Tuesday has been another beautiful day with blues skies but much cooler thankfully. Have been up the pass again making the most of cloud free summits. Had a stunning walk along the top of the corries again looking down to Kishorn. Very narrow ridges with 1500 foot sheer drops below. Can give one a dose of vertigo! Had another close encounter with a pair of ptarmigan still moulting their white feathers. A drive down the pass no deer to be seen maybe a little early tonight have come along the coast to Sand north of Applecross to enjoy the evening sun. The tide is high in covering the large sandy beach. Maybe if lucky a glimpse of an otter feeding?? Sat on the rocky shore writing this just by beachcomber cottage so peaceful no one here..only a single stag in velvet coming down the hill to break the silence.

Early evening light over Skye
Sat up above the coire enjoying tea looking across to Skye and Rhum. Sea mist rolling in from the Minch to the north swirling around Raasay and the Cuillins. Occassional ptarmigan calling in distance. Not a breath of wind up here so still very warm and guess what have just seen first midge of the trip!

Looking down into Coire a' Chaorachain
Sgurr a' Charachain
Another roasting hot day climbed up to this mountain to the west of Pass of the Cattle writing this blog from the top enjoying the view. The Torridonian Sandstone forms spectacular ridges. The sky is more hazy today lots of smoke in the air from nearby fires. A light breeze blowing on the top here. Looking out for deer on the way down this evening.

Strome Loch Carron
Very hot sunny day yet again little wind. Had drive over the pass to Loch Carron to meet some friends for lunch. Seeing the loch at its best. Just sat at Strome castle looking west to Skye Cuillins. Saw several fire engines heading north from Loch Carron to grass fire in Torridon.
